Jody Morris Strickland, 46 of Cedartown, was arrested in Rome after reports said that they found Strickland walking in the roadway drunk.
Police said that Strickland was walking onto the roadway on Shorter Avenue at Marigold Street when numerous cars had to brake aggressively in order to avoid hitting him.
Police said that after locating Strickland, he was found with an open container of a cold alcoholic beverage.
Strickland is charged with city drunkenness and jaywalking.
