The A Night to Remember Foundation’s ninth annual adult prom drew a crowd Saturday night, raising $32,000 to support families in the Rome area facing dementia.
Themed “Wild Wild West,” the event featured music, dancing, and Western-inspired activities. A highlight of the evening was the crowning of Susan Rice Walker as Prom Queen and Terry Clift as Prom King, titles earned through a fundraising competition.
According to foundation Chief Financial Officer Elizabeth Huff, this year’s total included a $10,000 donation from Home Instead. Proceeds will benefit ANRTF’s care closet and grant program, both of which provide direct support to local families.
“Dementia touches everybody,” said CEO Lamante Attaud. “The Alzheimer’s Association is focused on the research, while our work is centered on helping people here in Rome with day-to-day needs.”
The care closet supplies items such as adult diapers to facilities caring for dementia patients, while the grant program provides financial assistance for families struggling with the costs of care. Huff noted that donations remain essential in meeting these needs.
“I feel that there are a lot of families who are under stressful financial situations,” Huff said. “Without donations, we would not be able to monetarily help our local families.”
The evening also included a mock saloon set up by the nonprofit Spurred West and a photo booth for attendees.
The foundation is already preparing for its 10th annual adult prom, scheduled for Aug. 22, 2026, which organizers hope will be the largest fundraiser yet. Donations are accepted year-round at ANightToRememberRomeGa.com.
