Yvonda Smith Scales, 50 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she deposited a money order belonging to an elderly man, in the amount of $318, into her personal bank account.
The money order was for the victim’s monthly rent and the accused did deprive the victim of his rent payment. The incident occurred back on May 10, 2024.
Scales is charged with two counts exploitation/intimidation of the elderly/disabled.
