Samuel Parker West, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat up a 70 year-old woman.
Reports said that West hit the woman in the face with a closed fist.
After arriving at the jail Weste allegedly broke open a hatch on the roof of his cell. He then proceeded to punch and kick officers.
West is charged with battery, simple battery against a police officer, interference with government property, obstruction of police and unlawful acts in a penal institution.
