Jonathan Mark Stephens, 32 of Silver Creek, and John Cody Leon Hernandez, 32 of Rome, were arrested after police said they were found trying to destroy police evidence.
Reports said that during a traffic stop on Shorter Avenue at Sycamore Street, the men placed methamphetamine inside a liquid in an effort to destroy it.
Hernandez, the driver, was also found to have been driving on a suspended license and in possession of an opened alcoholic beverage.
Both are charged with possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence.
Hernandez is additionally charged with driving on a suspended license and open container.
Stephens is additionally charged with probation violation.
