The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has recently upgraded its body-worn camera technology, providing deputies with the new Axon Body Camera 4 models. These state-of-the-art devices offer improved video quality, enhanced connectivity, and greater reliability, reinforcing the department’s commitment to professionalism and transparency in the field.

In addition to the patrol upgrades, the Corrections Division will now utilize the Axon Body Camera 2 models that were previously assigned to deputies. This redistribution ensures correctional staff have the necessary tools to improve safety and accountability within the detention facility.

“These advancements reflect our ongoing commitment to community-focused law enforcement,” said Sheriff Jeff Shaver. “By equipping our team with the latest tools, we’re strengthening our ability to serve the public with integrity and transparency.”

Sheriff Shaver extended his gratitude to the Cherokee County Commission for their continued support in approving the purchase of the upgraded equipment.

The implementation of the new technology underscores the Sheriff’s Office’s dedication to enhancing public trust and operational effectiveness across all divisions.
