Darrion Larry Stowe, 59, of Cedartown, was arrested this week and charged with battery under the Family Violence Act (FVA) following a reported domestic incident.
According to a police report, officers responded to a call at 492 Garmon Road around 4:00 p.m., where the female complainant stated that her spouse, Stowe, had physically attacked her during an altercation. The victim had fled the couple’s residence to seek help and gave a statement to law enforcement at the scene.
Officers then went to the suspect’s address at 559 Garmon Road, where they made contact with Stowe. When questioned about the incident, Stowe denied that anything had occurred and claimed he had been home. Police noted that Stowe appeared unsteady on his feet and smelled strongly of alcohol.
After Stowe repeatedly interrupted attempts to question him, officers placed him under arrest for battery (FVA).
