A Cartersville man has been arrested following an investigation into a domestic disturbance earlier this week at a residence on Blair Road in Cedartown.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the scene in response to a “trouble with subject” call. Upon arrival, officers initiated a domestic violence investigation. The primary suspect was not present at the time, and no arrest was made immediately. However, based on evidence gathered, state warrants were issued for the suspect’s arrest.
Reports added that the victim provided a verbal statement regarding the incident and was advised on Georgia’s recording laws and the Magistrate Court process for filing for a warrant.
Jeffery Allen Malone, 62, of Cartersville, was taken into custody this week and booked into the Polk County Jail. He is facing multiple charges, including:
- Simple Battery
- Criminal Trespass
- Elder Abuse
- Obstruction of a Person Making a 911 Call
