Berry College welcomed its second-largest incoming class in school history on Monday, marking a milestone moment for the campus community and its new president, Sandeep Mazumder.
The class of 672 students, hailing from 34 states, is not only large but also highly accomplished academically—the strongest in Berry’s history, according to Vice President of Enrollment Management Andrew Bressette. Nearly a quarter of these students are the first in their families to attend college, reflecting Berry’s commitment to accessibility.
“We are continuing our mission of providing access to a high-quality education,” Bressette said.
Mazumder, who joined Berry in July, participated in move-in activities last week, making this his first experience welcoming a new class to campus.
The start of the semester also brings new facilities, including Morgan-Bailey Hall, a state-of-the-art building that houses the nursing program, student residences, and Berry’s new graduate Physician Associate program. The 36,000-square-foot space features simulation suites, skills and physical assessment labs, active learning classrooms, and mock operating and exam rooms—further expanding hands-on learning opportunities for students.
