The Rome-Floyd County Development Authority (RFDA) has announced Spencer Hogg as its President and Chief Executive Officer, positioning him to succeed Missy Kendrick, who stepped down in May after nearly six years to lead economic development efforts in Columbus.
Hogg currently serves as the President and CEO of the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority, where he oversees economic development across multiple counties. His experience in business recruitment, regional partnerships, and public-sector collaboration made him a standout candidate, according to RFDA Board Chair Jimmy Byars.
“Spencer brings strong leadership, deep local roots, and a collaborative approach that aligns well with our vision for Rome and Floyd County,” Byars said in a statement.
A native of Chattooga County, Hogg expressed gratitude for the opportunity. “I’m honored to be named the finalist and look forward to working with local leaders to support existing businesses and attract new investment that will shape the area’s economic future,” he said.
Hogg has held several leadership roles with the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority, including Vice President of Economic Development, and previously worked in government affairs for former U.S. Representatives Tom Graves and Jody Hice.
As mandated by Georgia law, the RFDA will make Hogg’s application materials available for public review for at least 14 days before finalizing the appointment. If approved, Hogg could officially step into the role later this summer.
The Rome-Floyd County Development Authority plays a central role in attracting industry, supporting business growth, and driving economic progress in the region.
