Kilene Lynn Boatner, 25 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she allowed a small child to ingest methamphetamine.
The child was taken to a local hospital after experiencing a medical emergency.
Police added that when they arrived at her home on Dodd Blvd, Boatner tried to flush a bag of suspected methamphetamine down the toilet.
Boatner is charged with cruelty to children in the 2nd degree and tampering with evidence.
