Roger Dewayne Callahan, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he grabbed and pushed a woman into a ditch during a dispute on North Ridge Court near Calhoun Road.
Reports added that the victim suffered visible cuts and bruising to her back.
The incident occurred back in April.
When police found and went to arrest Callahan, he allegedly refused to cooperate while running in an attempt to avoid being captured.
Callahan is charged with battery and obstruction.
