James Daniel Dempsey, 53, of Rome, was arrested this week after reports stated that he failed to deliver 58 car titles to the Motor Vehicle Division that had been sold for scrap.
Law enforcement stated that Dempsey failed to cancel the car titles within the 72-hour legal limit.
Two of the vehicles’ whereabouts are still unknown.
Dempsey is charged with 56 counts of failure to file a cancellation of certificate of title within 72 hours.
