Brian Christopher Vines, 40 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with drugs in a public place.
Officers said that they observed Vines at 2000 Redmond Circle carrying an unlabeled pill bottle that was later found to have contained Alprazolam.
Police added that they observed Vines trying to hide the drugs in a bush before walking away.
Vines is charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug related objects, abandonment of dangerous drugs and drugs not in original container.
