Illegal Hispanic Male Beaten and Robbed in Cedartown

Wesley Basan Parker, 37 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he beat and robbed an illegal Hispanic male.

Police said that they were dispatched to Merrits Avenue in response to a Hispanic male being beaten and robbed.

The victim told officers that he initially did not want to report the incident because he was here illegally.

Officers were told that the victim was riding his bicycle on 6^th Street when a car approached him and attempted to run him over.  After missing, Parker exited the vehicle and knocked the victim off the bike before proceeding to hit him with his fist and a glass Coke bottle.  Parker then allegedly stole the victim’s wallet and bicycle.

Officers were able to use nearby security cameras to identify Parker.

Parker is charged with robbery and aggravated battery.
