A Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy, Christopher Adam Cook, of Rome, has resigned after being arrested following a drunken altercation with police at Panama City Beach, Florida.
Reports said that officers were dispatched to Regency Towers after Cook refused to get out of a beach chair that belonged to someone else while threatening to stab them.
When officers attempted to remove Cook from the chair, he allegedly began to jerk away from them while tucking them under himself. Cook’s action caused the chair to turn over and break.
Cook then identified himself as “John Doe” when asked his name.
Investigators then discovered that Cook had drank the victim’s $15 alcoholic slushy.
It was then discovered that Cook had an earlier altercation with a family in the bar area at the condos before walking to the beach while threatening to stab people.
While en route to the Bay County Jail, Cook is accused of attempting to get out of his handcuffs. He was later found in possession of a handcuff key.
Cook is charged with theft, disorderly conduct, fraud (giving false Id to police), resisting arrest, and obstruction.
