Seth Michael Gregory, 21 of Cedartown, was arrested recently after reports said he assaulted the mother of his child.
According to a statement given by the victim, Gregory came home from work in an angry state. She said that although she attempted to go to bed, he repeatedly came into the bedroom yelling at her. In an effort to avoid the conflict, she moved into their infant son’s room. However, she said Gregory continued yelling even while she was with the child. When she returned to the bedroom to retrieve her phone, she said Gregory took it from her and continued shouting. At one point, according to her account, he grabbed her by the hair and threw her onto the bed.
The victim then said she returned to her son’s room when the baby woke up from the noise. While holding the child, she said Gregory continued to block her attempts to leave the home. She told officers that he grabbed her by the wrist, prevented her from leaving, and hid her phone and car keys. As she tried to exit through the living room, she said Gregory pushed her while she was still holding the baby and attempted to force her into a recliner. She noticed neighbors outside and began yelling for help.
At that point, she claimed, Gregory grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground—even as she continued to hold their 7-month-old son.
Eventually, the victim said she was able to escape the home. She then showed officers a series of calls and messages from Gregory during their conversation at the police station. Gregory reportedly called several more times while she was speaking with the officer.
Gregory is charged with battery, false imprisonment, harassing phone calls and cruelty to children.
