A kayaking trip turned violent last week at the Old Hardin Bridge Landing in Bartow County, leading to multiple injuries and the arrest of a Cedartown man. Deputies responded to reports of an assault involving several people, including one allegedly hit by a vehicle. At the scene, officers found a distressed woman and later located 44-year-old James Ervin Millhollan, who claimed he had been attacked and run over during a chaotic altercation.
According to witnesses, the dispute began when tensions rose between Millhollan and the woman, with allegations that he assaulted her and attempted to drown her during an argument. Another man who arrived to help reportedly hit Millhollan with his vehicle while trying to leave the scene.
After reviewing the situation, deputies identified Millhollan as the primary aggressor. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of battery. He was taken to the hospital for treatment before being released on $12,000 bond.
