Cindy Michelle Lackey, 41 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said she injured an older man during an argument over cigarettes.
Reports said that officers were dispatched to a home on Cason Road in reference to a domestic.
Police stated that after arriving on scene, they met with Lackey, who was standing in the driveway. They also observed an older male sitting in a chair under the carport of the residence. While speaking with the man, police said that they observed numerous wounds on his left arm that were bleeding. The victim proceeded to tell police that Lackey became angry over cigarettes and money before clawing him before tossing him onto the ground.
Lackey then told investigators that when she got to her victim’s home, he was yelling about his money and cigarettes. She states that she told him that she had five dollars and that she would go get him a pack of cigarettes when the store opens. Lackey then told officers that the man started to “bitch at her” before hitting her in the mouth. Officers then tried to find evidence of her claim, but did not find anything to cooperate her statement.
Lackey is charged with simple battery against an older victim.
