According to reports, nearly 6% of all Floyd County homes are without power after a strong storm rolled through Rome on Thursday evening.
According to Rome City Police, damage has caused numerous traffic lights to go dark, and as the result have asked anyone to not travel until it is an emergency.
Rome stated that a large portion of the Celenese community, Summerville Park, GA Loop 1 and Shorter Avenue is without power.
Georgia Power stated that as of 8 pm 2,722 meters were out.
