Cedartown Woman Jailed for Attacking Husband, Children with Beer Bottles

Maricella Valasquez, 37 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said she assaulted her family with beer bottles.

Reports stated that Valasquez went into the home in a rage while throwing beer bottles at her husband. The victim stated that his wife then proceeded to shove him.

Valasquez then assaulted her oldest son, who was attempting to get her to stop hurting his father.

Reports added that Valasquez then went to the kitchen, where she struck her youngest child, a female, in the left shoulder.

The victims then told police that Valasquez attempted to get a knife from the kitchen but was unsuccessful as the items spilled to the floor.

A third child witnessed the attack.

Valasquez is charged with three counts simple battery, two counts 1^st degree cruelty to children and third degree cruelty to children.
