Christopher Dion High, 50 of Rockmart, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with an assortment of drugs after failing to dim his headlights.
Police said that they were patrolling in the area of Atlanta Highway at Forsyth Lake Road when they observed a 2006 Chrysler 300 pull out of Polk Motel onto Atlanta Highway. Police added that the vehicle failed to dim its headlights as it passed, causing officers to initiate a traffic stop.
While speaking with High, police said that they detected the odor of Marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle.
Police then asked High to step out of his car, but he allegedly refused after stating that he did not have any drugs inside.
Officers then advised High to step out of the vehicle or he would be forcefully removed. High then handed officers a plastic bag containing approximately 16.8 grams of suspected Marijuana.
Officers went on to say that High continued to refuse to get out of the car before he was forcefully removed.
High continually refused to cooperate and continued to fight with officers when they were attempting to place him in handcuffs. Officers added that they “drive stunned” High in he back in order to gain control of the situation.
A further search resulted in police finding a plastic bag containing a white rock-like substance suspected to be Crack Cocaine in his pocket and numerous small plastic baggies inside his car.
High is charged with possession of cocaine, drug trafficking, crossing the guard line with drugs, selling cocaine, obstruction, possession of marijuana, tag light violation and failure to dem headlights.
