Jose Guadalupe Segura, 22 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he burglarized Tony’s tires on South Main Street.

Reports said that officers were dispatched to the area of Tonys Tire(925 S Main St) in reference to a possible burglary in progress. The complainant advised 911 that there was a male who was trying to get into the back of Tony’s Tire.

Upon arrival, police searched the area for the male. While there, officers said that they spotted the male coming back through the parking lot of a nearby church from the area of Tony’s Tire heading eastbound on Merritts Ave. At this time, police stated that they heard what appeared to be the sound of someone jumping over a fence and their feet hitting the ground.

They then located Jose Segura, who matched the description of the suspect, in the backyard.

During our search of the area, police said that they located a small sledgehammer with a broken handle. It was lying close to
the sidewalk on the Main St side of Tony’s Tire. Note that the hammer was dry, and it had finished raining approximately an hour prior to this incident. The ground and all things outside were still wet.

Segura is charged with two counts first degree burglary.
