Shunmario Donquez Smith, 40 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after reports said he beat a woman in the face with his fist.
Reports said that the victim suffered visible injuries to the left side of her face.
The incident occurred at a home on Tolbert Street.
Smit is charged with battery.
