Coosa High School recently announced the appointment of Brooke Brumbelow as their new Fast-Pitch Softball Coach, effective immediately.

“I am thrilled to welcome Coach Brumbelow back to our Coosa High School family. Her passion for softball and commitment to student success make her an exceptional addition to our athletic department. She brings dynamic energy with a competitive spirit that inspires players to excel. Coach B has a proven track record of hard work with and genuine care for student-athletes, and we are excited to see the impact she is sure to have on this program,” said incoming CHS principal Kristen Martin.

Brumbelow joined Floyd County Schools during the 2021-22 school year as a teacher and coach at Coosa Middle School. During her time at CMS, Brumbelow forged strong relationships in the Coosa community, fulfilling the roles of the school’s PR and social media liaison and yearbook advisor. She also dedicated her time coaching basketball and competition cheer at both middle and high school levels. Mrs. Brumbelow transitioned into the role of system-wide Public Relations Coordinator in 2023.

Prior to entering the education field, Brumbelow served as the Communications Manager with the NBA’s Orlando Magic. Her main responsibilities included generating publicity for the organization’s on and off court initiatives, serving as a staff writer and copy editor, facilitating media arrangements for all special events and games, creating positive relationships with both local and national media for the Magic brand, producing the game program and assisting in the publication of the media guide, overseeing marketing aspects for all new and existing initiatives, facilitating media interviews and player appearances and supporting all other areas of the communications department.

Following her 2012 graduation as Valedictorian of Pepperell High School, Mrs. Brumbelow attended the University of Georgia where she worked in the sports media relations department for five years, both as a student and as a full-time Graduate Assistant. In this role, she served as the primary media contact for three Olympic sports, including softball, volleyball, and women’s basketball, while also overseeing media responsibilities for the football program. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in sport management and communications, and her master’s degree in administration.

Brumbelow resides in Rome with her husband, Brad (who is an assistant baseball coach at CHS), and her two daughters, Harper and Sutton.
