The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards banquet recently at Sarah Jane Farms. The event celebrated local businesses and individuals who have contributed significantly to the community and raised funds for the Leadership Chattooga Student Edition program, which helps high school juniors and seniors develop leadership skills and knowledge about their local area. Cindy McGraw, the Executive Director of the Chamber, expressed gratitude to all community members for their contributions.

The Chamber acknowledged outstanding achievements in several categories:

– Non-Profit of the Year: Boys & Girls Club
– Micro Business of the Year: Sweet Beaux Mercantile
– Small Business of the Year: DIRT Pour
– Large Business of the Year: McDonald’s (Summerville)
– Industry of the Year: Atrium Health
– Community Service Award: Summerville Main Street Volunteers

Liza Morgan, the Chamber Board Chair, presented awards to representatives from the recognized organizations, highlighting their impact on the local economy and community. Jim Aaron from McDonald’s could not attend the event. Sponsors included Atrium Health as the presenting sponsor, alongside Georgia Power, NWGA JDA/Top of Georgia, and Goodson Fencing.

The silent auction featured donations from local businesses, supporting the Leadership Chattooga Student Edition program. Contributions from various organizations, such as the Chattooga Garden Club and Pop of Grace Events, played a significant role in the event’s success. McGraw thanked the Chamber Board and Volunteer Ambassador Lewis Higgins for their efforts, emphasizing the Chamber’s ongoing support for the business community in Chattooga County.
