Joey Lee Fowler, 48 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to run over another person at the Saga Inn on Martha Berry Highway.
Reports said that Fowler used his car as a weapon when he sped up in an effort to hit the victim in the parking lot.
Fowler is also accused of stealing a backpack from the victim’s hotel room.
Authorities stated that Fowler stole n early $1,000 in items from the victim.
Fowler is charged with aggravated assault, first degree burglary, theft by taking and driving on a suspended license.
