Robert Kyle Burdick, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he punched his sister in the face during a dispute on Old Summerville Road.
Reports stated that the victim suffered a cut to her lip.
The incident occurred in front of a 16 month-old child.
Burdick is charged with battery and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree.
