Clayton William Grant, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he grabbed a 21 year-old woman by the throat and choked her until she “could not longer breathe” and “seen stars”.
Grant is also accused of damaging numerous walls around the home on Keown Road.
Officers added that when they arrived on scene, Grant fled on foot and led them on a chase.
Grant is charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespass and obstruction.
