Little Willie McClain, 38 of Rome, was arrested recently for burglarizing homes around Cedartown.
On Tuesday March 11, 2025 at 07:00 I Lt. J. Turner was dispatched to a home on Fair Oaks Drive in reference to a burglary. Upon my arrival I met with the homeowners (EDIT) . (EDIT) advised me that someone entered her unlocked vehicle that was on her car porch and took a set of keys that were in the glove box. (EDIT) states that her house key was on the set of keys and was used to unlock and enter the residence through the car port door while they were sleeping. Upon the subject entering the residence, they took two bank deposits that were sitting out on the kitchen table along with her purse. One deposit was a cash deposit to Regions Bank in the amount of $960.00 to include the deposit slip.
The second deposit was also a cash deposit of $1200.00 to Greater Rome Community Bank with a deposit slip. the purse was a black Tory
Burch purse to include a Tory Burch wallet along with credit cards, her driver’s license and other items.
(EDIT) states that when she woke up this morning at around 6 am, she entered the kitchen area and observed that the items were missing. She went out to check her vehicle and observed that her car had been rummaged through and that her keys were not in her glove box. As she went back into the residence, there is a wire basket hanging on the wall by the entry door, she observed the set of missing keys and a yellow Bic lighter in the basket. (EDIT) states that the lighter does not belong to them and must belong to who ever broke into their home.
At this time I contacted Det. Kinne and advised him of the incident. He then responded to the scene. While checking the area, Cpl. Barnes located a $20.00 bill that was laying in the roadway in front of the residence. No other items of evidentiary value were located at this time. Det. Kinne attempted to lift a palm print and partial fingerprints from the passenger side of the vehicle. The lighter and the $20.00 bill were collected and placed into evidence for further examination.
03/11/2025 Little Willie McCain was searched incident to arrest in reference to case number 25-1800 and during this search he was found to be in possession of a Social Security card and a United States Permanent Resident card in the name of Fabiola Cruz Lopez. The items were taken into evidence at the time and placed into evidence storage.
On 03/12/2025 officers were able to locate a telephone number for Mrs. Lopez and contacted her in reference to her property. (EDIT) advised me that her husband had found her car door open on the morning of the 11th but she did not find anything missing at the time. (EDIT) said that both of these cards were in her vehicle but she did not realize that they were missing. She also said that she did not know Little Willie McCain and that he should not have been in possession of her property. The items were photographed and returned to (EDIT) Warrants were taken on Little Willie McCain for theft by receiving.
On Saturday March 15, 2025 I met with the complainant (EDIT) at his residence of 404 Woodlawn Drive Cedartown GA 30125. (EDIT) advised me that two of his firearms were stolen out of his vehicle at some point.
(EDIT) states that he wasn’t sure when they were taken but believes that they were taken from his truck at one of the stores in town. (EDIT) states that one of the firearms is a Glock Model 22 .40 Cal. hand gun serial # EXH518. At this time I advised(EDIT) that I have this firearm in evidence at Cedartown Police Department from a previous case (25-1800). This firearm is multi-colored due to (EDIT) having the firearm dipped as a smokey color. The second firearm is a black in color Helwan 9mm semi-auto hand gun. (EDIT) did not have the serial number to the firearm at this time but was working on obtaining a photo of the firearm. Fuller states that this firearm was older and the slide was hard to pull back and that the firearm has a hammer.
I observed that (EDIT) has security cameras at his residence. I asked (EDIT) to look back on 03/10/2025 from dark to 03/11/2025 at 04:30. On 03/11/2025 at 03:21 the interior light of his truck comes on and you can see what appears to be a flashlight shining around inside the truck. the camera shows the driver side but appears that the subject came up the driveway and entered the passenger side of the truck. You can not see the subject in the truck.
(EDIT) is in process of locating any and all video of the incident.
