Katherine McLendon, 31 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said she nearly killed her mother during a physical altercation
Reports stated that officers were dispatched to a home on Cut Logging Road in reference to a domestic dispute.
When officers arrived, the victim told police that she and McLendon got into an argument when she asked the suspect to leave the home.
It was then that McLendon shoved the victim on the bed, got on top of her, and began to choke her until she was unable to breathe.
A witness was able to help pull McLendon off of the victim and then call 911 for help.
The officer said that McLendon appeared to be “very” intoxicated while speaking with her.
McLendon is charged with aggravated assault and battery.
