Lindsey David Evans, a 46-year-old man from Cave Spring, was arrested earlier this week following multiple reports of theft spanning over several months. Evans faces a total of six felony charges, including theft by conversion, theft by taking, and theft related to vehicle parts, gas drive-offs, and financial fraud.
According to reports, Evans allegedly collected over $11,000 in fuel payments from a victim between November and December 2023. The victim later discovered that none of the payments had been received, resulting in the $11,000 debt.
Evans is also accused of stealing a third axle from a vehicle between December 21 and December 23, 2023, while working with an employee of Fox Anthony Trucking, located at 5045 New Calhoun Highway. The axle was then sold for $1,250 to a parts company in Alabama.
In another incident, Evans reportedly sold faulty tires to a man who operates F&M Contracting between March 1 and December 31, 2023. He had promised the victim $500 toward a fuel bill but later failed to honor the agreement. Additionally, Evans took out a $100 loan from the same man, agreeing to pay it back by reducing his $1,500 fuel bill by $1,000.
Further allegations against Evans include the theft of cash payments totaling $9,000 from RST Truck and Trailer between November 4 and December 23, 2023. He is accused of taking these payments for motor fuel and converting the funds for his personal use.
Evans also reportedly took a $2,500 Cashapp payment from a man operating Circle C Transport in Alabama for fuel and then used the money for his personal gain.
Between November 1 and December 31, 2023, Evans sold a trailer full of tires valued at approximately $2,000 but kept the proceeds instead of paying the individual who had given him permission to sell the tires.
According to investigators, Evans completed 29 motor fuel transactions with Three Rivers Fuel between March and December of 2023, but failed to pay for any of them, totaling $1,395.84 in unpaid bills.
In another set of accusations, Evans allegedly took seven checks, amounting to $15,600, from Suits, LLC, which were made out to Three Rivers Fuel. Instead of depositing them as intended, Evans allegedly placed the checks into an LDE Pride LLC account. Authorities say he then wrote six checks to himself over various dates, totaling $10,243.60, which were meant to cover payments to other businesses or individuals.
Evans is currently being held in jail while authorities continue to investigate the thefts.
