Rome Woman, while on Drugs, Jailed for Running Over Eldelry Man on Broad Street

Heather Marie Erb, 55 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she was driving high on drugs when she struck an elderly man crossing a crosswalk on Broad Street.

Police said that the Erb was taking Xanax and Clonazepam while driving her 2015 Cadillac Escalade.

Authorities went on to say that the 74 year-old man suffered multiple fractures when he was hit crossing at East 6^th Avenue.

Erb is charged with DUI, serious injury by vehicle and failing to yield a crosswalk.
