Michael Steele 50 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he stole oil from the Dollar General on Cave Spring Road.
Reports said that Steele was observed placing a quirt of oi in his jacket pocket and attempted to leave the store without paying.
Steele is charged with theft by taking.
