A Gordon County firefighter, Hunter Wilson, 26, was arrested and fired this week after he allegedly stole property during an active fire response.
“Mr. Wilson is terminated due to conduct unbecoming of a county employee, violation of oath of office, and theft,” Gordon County Fire Rescue Chief Heath Derryberry said. “His actions have violated department policies and ethical standards, and broken the public’s trust in the fire department and the community we have sworn to serve.”
Wilson is charged with felony financial transaction card fraud.
