Lisa Ann Smith, 58 of Buchanan, was arrested in Rome after reports said she was captured stealing $529.71 worth of items from the East Rome Walmart.
Police went on to say that before taking Smith into custody, Smith is accused of attempting to throw away what was found to be a bag of methamphetamine.
Police added that she also gave officers a false name during arrest.
Smith is charged with possession of methamphetamine, felony theft by shoplifting, giving false information to police.
