Codie Shayne Pierce, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he assaulted a 1 month-old child at a home on Old Summerville Road.
Police said that Pierce intentionally slapped a cup toward the child.
Reports said that Pierce’s action “almost caused injury to the child”.
Pierce is charged with simple assault, 3rd degree cruelty to children.
