Harry Meyers Patterson, 30 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said they found him in possession of drugs while taking him into custody for driving under the influence.
Reports said Patterson was stopped on 2nd Avenue at 6th Street after he allegedly made an improper turn. During the stop, officers said that they discovered that Patterson was under the influence of a substance.
Police added that they later found Patterson in possession of Gabapentin in his pants pocket.
Patterson is charged with DUI, drugs not in original container, possession of dangerous drugs and improper turn.
