Cortavious Dytre Benham, 22 of Rockmart, was arrested in Rome after leading police on both a car and foot chase.
Officers said that Benham was spotted driving on the wrong side of the roadway when he fled away instead of stopping for them. During a chase through residential neighborhoods, Benham is accused of running numerous stop signs while driving at high rates of speed.
After eventually stopping, Benham proceeded to run away on foot.
When captured, police said that they found Beham to have been driving while intoxicated and in possession of marijuana.
Reports list the chases occurring on Shorter Avenue and Leon Street.
Benham is charged with possession of marijuana, DUI, obstruction, five counts running a stop sign, reckless driving, attempting to elude police, failure to maintain lane, probation violation.
