Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home announced on Saturday the completion of their new crematory, which is the first of its kind in Gordon County, and it is now operational.
Eddie Brannon, who along with his family manages the funeral home, stated that the timing for the crematory’s opening aligns perfectly with the needs of local families. He noted that by 2025, the choice of cremation will be nearly as common as that of burial. Brannon said that establishing their own cremation facility is a logical decision for the community.
This new facility, situated at the existing College Street location of Max Brannon and Sons, will allow the funeral home to manage future costs more effectively by eliminating the need for a third-party crematory. Additionally, several members of the Brannon family, including Eddie, Matt, Brooks, Esther Hayes Ford, and Nick Blalock, have obtained full credentials from the Cremation Association of North America.
