An inmate at the Floyd County Prison, DeLroy Jamario Barrett, 29 of Swainsboro, has been jailed after reports said that while participating in gang activity as part of the “Bloods” he conspired to get drugs into the facility.

Authorities stated that Barrett conspired with multiple civilians to obtain 441 grams of marijuana.  Telephone calls were recorded of Barrett and others arranging the drugs be delivered to a trash receptacle at Ridge Ferry Park so that they could be retrieved by inmates on work detail.

Barrett is charged with two counts of items prohibited by an inmate, use of a communication facility in the commission of a felony, unlawful participation in street gang activity, and conspiracy to violate controlled substance act.
