Ray Earl Mack, 41 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said he threw a table at an officer that was arresting him for hitting an elderly man.
Police stated that Mack hit and shoved the 71 year-old victim at a location on Grove Avenue in Lindale.
Mack then threw the table at Ofc Carranza when they attempted to place Mack under arrest.
Mack is charged with battery, simple assault and felony obstruction.
