Cinthea Marie Garrison, 32 of Silver Creek, and Anthony Lee Ely Jr, 43 of Rome, were arrested at the East Rome Walmart after deceiving them out of $77.
Reports said that the couple took a piece of furniture, valued at $35, and a cart, valued at $42), off the shelf and then went to customer service using a receipt off his phone to return the unpurchased items.
The couple was given a gift card for the return.
Both are charged with theft by deception and theft by shoplifting.
Ely is additionally charged with probation violation.
