Dr. Jerry Buttram has been honored by the Polk County Commission as the 2024 Citizen of the Year. .
Buttrum, a retired educator, worked 40 years with Polk School District and pastor of Cedartown’s Calvary Assembly of God for 54 years.
“He has always had a servant’s heart, and he actively searches for ways to make a positive impact in everyone’s life that he comes into contact with,” Commission Chair Hal Floyd said. “Dr. Buttrum is an extraordinary Polk County resident, and continues to contribute to the local community in various different ways.”
