Floyd County Schools recently honored its 2024 SRO Award of Honor recipient, Mallory Boatfield.
Pepperell High School Principal, Jason Kouns, wrote: “Not only does Officer Boatfield serve a need in her role as our School Resource Officer, but she too has demonstrated her ability to step into a ‘mentor role’ with our students…and in most cases, not only does she redirect inappropriate behaviors, but she talks them through better alternatives and decisions.”
Kouns added, “This is my 30th year in education and my 20th year as a Principal and I can confidently say that Mallory Boatfield is the best SRO I have had the privilege to serve alongside.”
Pepperell Middle School Principal, Courtney Hampton, also praised Mallory. She wrote: “Her diligence is truly commendable, as she balances the needs of multiple schools while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. Officer Boatfield deserves to be recognized and celebrated for her tireless efforts and commitment to protecting our students and staff. She is a true example of excellence in service.”
