William Troy Anderson Jr, 49 of Calhoun, was arrested this week after reports said he stalked and attacked a 49 year-old woman in Rome.
Police said that Anderson went to the victim’s place of employment and then took her cell phone so that she could not call 911 for help.
He then placed his hands around her neck and choked her.
The incident occurred at 409 East 2nd Street.
Anderson is charged with battery, theft by taking, stalking, obstruction, and probation violation.
