Christopher Jerome Harris, 34 of Adairsville, was arrested in Rome after reports said he attempted to strangle and beat a 31-year-old woman with a dumbbell
Reports said that after choking the woman with his arm he hit her over the forehead with the dumbbell.
The incident occurred at an apartment on Alpine Court.
Harris is charged with aggravated assault.
