Rome Redevelopment Agency met today and recommended approval of $2 million in Tax Allocation District financing for a Home 2 Suites by Hilton between Varsity and Thankful Baptist Church.
Sam Patel said that if ultimately approved, shovels should be in ground during 2nd Qtr of 2025. Plans are for a 105 unit all suites property.
According to City of Rome officials, ” Rome currently has a huge need for additional hotel rooms since many visitors have to stay in neighboring communities when local hotels book up. This means Rome is hosting great events and attracting visitors, but then sending them away to stay in other communities who benefit from the events we host.”
