Cartersville Police arrested 32-year-old Eric Lavon Cole Junior of Cartersville and 35-year-old Tyberius Leshawn Morris of Carrollton after a wild sequence of events that led to damage to a restaurant and two tazings late last week.

Police learned of a suspect doing narcotics in Texaco in the Cartersville Village Shopping Center off South Tennessee Street and falling asleep before entering a blue car traveling north.

They conducted a traffic stop at Pugmire Ford on North Tennessee Street and Johnson Street. Morris reportedly handed an officer a Florida ID with a different name before driving off, going more than 70 miles per hour on Tennessee Street in a 35-mile-per-hour zone. He tried to turn left onto East Main Street but lost control and slammed into Surcheros Fresh Mex.

Morris and Cole reportedly fled the car. During the foot pursuit, Morris allegedly ignored police commands and taser threats and reached toward his waistline. A taser strike hit Morris in his right torso, causing him to sit and try pulling the taser wires off before getting up and reaching toward his front waist area again. A second taser strike reportedly incapacitated Morris, and police arrested him.

Morris purportedly possessed a brass-knuckled knife. A vehicle search reportedly yielded numerous drugs, a shotgun, and a rifle.

Eric Cole and Tyberius Morris were charged with possession of a controlled substance in schedule four and obstructing a law enforcement officer. Morris also received multiple other charges, including identity fraud, possession of a controlled substance in schedule two, and attempting to elude a police officer.
