An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Benjamin Franklin Robinson, 36 of Rome, is facing new charges after reports said he threatened to shoot and kill a Sheriff’s Deputy once he is released from jail.

Robinson is charged with felony terroristic threats and acts.

A 36 year-old Rome man high on meth, Benjamin Franklin Robinson, 36 of Rome, was arrested on the Kingfisher Trial after fighting with and spitting on police officers.

Officers said that they were dispatched to the scene after Robinson was observed to be yelling and using curse words around families.

When officers arrived,  Robinson told them that high on meth.  It was at that point, Robinson attempted to spit in the face of an officer while screaming and cursing at them.

Robinson then attempted to pull away while spitting at another officer.  Robinson then told police that he was not going to jail before being taken to jail.

Robinson is charged with two counts simple assault, public drunk, disorderly conduct, obstruction, and failure to appear.
